Abstract:   (7 Views)
Background and Objective: pro-Environmental Behaviors (PEB) are voluntary actions by an individual or group that directly or indirectly affects environmental changes or brings benefits to the environment. The aim of this study was to determine the pro-Environmental Behaviors and related factors of students at universities in Ilam City.
Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive‑analytical study conducted to investigate PEB among 448 students from universities in Ilam City. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16, employing linear and multiple regression analyses at a significance level of 0.05.
Results: The findings showed a significant positive relationship between self‑connection with nature (b: 1.88; p < 0.001) and physical experience of nature (b: 3.02; p < 0.001) with PEB, while worldview toward nature had no relationship (b: 0.20; p = 0.301). In the multiple regression model, the observed relationships persisted: self‑connection with nature (b: 1.32; p < 0.001) and physical experience of nature (b: 2.23; p < 0.001) maintained a significant positive relationship with PEB, whereas worldview (b: 0.06; p = 0.755) did not.
Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that self‑connection with nature and physical experience of nature can play an important and influential role in PEB.
